2017 - day 8 (9th September - Innsbruck to Bressanone)

Today was one of those days which just reinforces why cycling is undoubtedly the best way to appreciate a country and to have a great holiday.

Had to be up early this morning to have breakfast, pack and be ready to be picked up by the transfer bus at 8.00. We then enjoyed a trip up to the Brennan Pass - about 40 minutes - where we met the lady with our bikes, instructions etc. Took a while to sort everyone out with the right gear and then we were able to set off down the pass into Italy with the most incredible motorway never far away carrying a massive volume of traffic and the rail corridor also running through the beautiful Valley with massive mountains on either side.

The ride was nearly all on hotmix bike path so easy to ride and to follow through the most beautiful scenery and the regular quaint little village. Stops for the required coffee break and then fabulous lunch in Sterzing - a real tourist Hotspot we've never even  heard of but where we had the most wonderful lunch of local apple cider and local style of sandwich with bacon and cheese and fabulous crusty bread - and the loveliest of people looking after us.
More stunning so scenery all the way to Bressanone which is also the most beautiful little town. Pictures will eventually tell the Story!

Spoilt with more magnificent food -spare ribs - for dinner in a great little restaurant in town. Tomorrow we head for Bolzano but the weather forecast is not looking quite so good - we'll let you know tomorrow how we Fare!

Today though was just beautiful - pretty good weather, stunning scenery, great little eating places with just lovely people to look after us - all in all a terrific day's cycling.
