"Minafon" - week 13, Saturday

Just dropped in on the way home from Brisbane late this afternoon to have a quick look as we've been away a couple of days seeing the Grandchildren. Scott has been working on the wardrobe and shelving fit-outs and it looks as though they are all finished (beautifully), as are the skirting boards and window trims so carpentry almost done internally - just got to finish putting in the #2 and #3 bedroom wardrobe doors.

Next week will be fun - tiling, decking/porch and more painting - looking more "finished" by the end of the week I suspect.

"Minafon" - week 13, Thursday

We are really into the "fiddly" finishing off bits now. Cupboard/wardrobe fit-outs today, along with the first coat of ensuite/bathroom water-proofing (second coat goes on Monday) and the cabinet-makers were back putting in the study bench (office and sewing)  as well as the (Laminex) splash backs in the kitchen. Very happy with all that - looks terrific.

Builders will be finished inside tomorrow and then next week they nail down the deck, do the front porch and line the ceiling of the deck. Tiling also next week followed by painter, electrician and then........

"Minafon" - week 13, Wednesday

Bit hard to "pick the changes" today, but lots has been going on - mostly door-hanging, trims, wardrobes etc. Chris the painter was there when we got over quite late this afternoon filling every nail-hole in the trim, wardrobe doors etc- exciting job! Skirting boards tomorrow.

"Minafon" - week 13, Tuesday

Lots happening again today - plaster's apprentice was finishing off all the fine work, and Scott and Brendon have been hanging doors and starting on the trimming as well as having put all the timber down on the back deck - it now just needs to be nailed down completely.

This afternoon we went through all the wardrobes, garage shelving and cupboards with Scott working out measurements and lay-outs for those so now he is on to that. We meet with the tiler next Monday and then with the painter just to finalise internal painting details - getting closer and closer to finished!!

No deck photos after all - deck is not quite finished so will do the next blog on Tuesday - Monday being public holiday thanks to our crazy fiddling about with QB and Mayday depending on whether the unions are in power or not!

Just thought I'd clarify the decking material I mentioned last blog - if anyone was keen enough to Google the "Eco-Wood" I mentioned you would get the wrong information. The actual product is called "Platinum Eco 5000" - which is an entirely different (and better) product. Sorry.

"Minafon" - week 12, Friday

Another week down, but again crawling with workers today - three painters on the outside, two plasterers on the inside and two carpenters on the deck - and clouds of fine plaster dust settling over everything!! We are having "eco-wood" laid on the deck which Scott tells us is the best - it is a laminated product so is straight and comes in set lengths so is much better for the carpenters to work with - and looks terrific and has a 25 year guarantee! Will get a photo of the "finished" deck tomorrow.

"Minafon" - week 12, Thursday

Leave it to the photos to tell the story today - Scott was just leaving as we arrived this afternoon and said they start on the deck tomorrow. Painters/water-proofers move in Monday and the builders are right for the internal fit-out as previously advised. Something different to see every day now!
